Clarivate Plc is a global provider of transformative intelligence. The company announced the renewal of its multi-year partnership with CAPES. The extensional access to trusted Academia and Government Life Sciences and Healthcare data to over 400 Brazilian institutions. In comparison to the previous contract, the agreement has increased its institutional coverage up to 57%, including the availability of high-quality research tools to research centers and universities in Brazil. It will enable access to the country’s remote areas, regions, and metropolitan areas.
According to Brazil’s Ministry of Education, CAPES contributes significantly to advancing postgraduate education, like providing training and attracting international scientific collaboration. Clarivate has been a long-term partner to CAPES. Clarivate has been in collaboration with the agency since 2001. The time when ‘Web of Science’ was announced as one of the first databases to engage in the CAPE portal. The new agreement introduces enhancements and accessibility to solutions consisting of Derwent Innovation Index, Web of Science, Cortellis Drug Discovery Intelligence, and journal citation reports.
The combined integration of insights from academic research, data, healthcare sectors, and life sciences has upgraded the agreement and encouraged practitioners and researchers in many ways. It has benefited biomedical scientists, scholars, healthcare professionals, and policy advisors. It helps in performing innovative research, improving and enhancing patient care, informing the updates on policy decisions, and discovering new treatments.
It enables access to critical information, decision making, education, and improvement in evidence-based discovery.
Clarivate’s chief executive officer, Matti Shem Tov, said that the extended partnership with CAPES is a great example of strategic collaboration and how it can leverage research and innovation at the national level. Later, he says, Brazil has made commendable progress, and the company supports insights and trusted data. Also, it discovers new technology for researchers from various countries.
CAPES president, Denise Pires de Carvalho, said the expansion will help researchers in the northeast, center west, and north with more visibility due to the access and expansion.
