Astrazeneca introduced Astrazeneca Direct, an online platform engineered to provide a seamless and convenient path for registered patients to expand their access to prescribed medications, offering a visible aware cash price with the service of home delivery. Astrazeneca Direct will help individuals suffering from chronic conditions, such as diabetes, chronic kidney disease, heart failure, and asthma, as well as those seeking protection against the flu.
Effective from 1st October 2025, the registered patients with a prescription for Farxiga (dapaglifozin) or airsupra (albuterol/budesonide) will have access to AstraZeneca Direct for the purchasing of these medicines directly for the cash price of around 70% off the list price. Alongside, the patients can also order Flumist, the live, intranasal vaccine for home delivery services via the online platform.
AstraZeneca Direct is an extended strategy of the company’s long-term US patient support services, which remains unchanged for registered patients. These programs will support a significant number of registered patients' access to their AstraZeneca medication at either no cost or at a low cost. This online platform is an advancement and encouragement to the technological advancement sector integration into the regular or key services of AstraZeneca. This seamless interaction between the healthcare provider and patients will save time and cost. This will pave the way for development in the services of the company.
The president of AstraZeneca, Joris Silon, said, “We are dedicated to the improvement of driving innovation, affordability, and accessibility in healthcare, and we’re thrilled to introduce AstraZeneca Direct, which gives patients a visible cash price with the comfort of home delivery. The program boosts our existing patient support services and is a crucial step towards providing the essential medications required for patients on the spot.”
If an individual is allergic to albuterol, then they should avoid AirSupra and, before using it, inform their healthcare provider about every medical condition and medicines they consume. The airsupra should not be used for asthma as a maintenance treatment. An individual with a dapagliflozin allergy should avoid Farxiga. The symptoms of an extreme allergic reaction may consist of red patches on the skin (hives), skin rash, swelling of the tongue, throat, lips, and face (this causes stressful swallowing or breathing). One must not use Flumist if allergic to its components, such as various flu vaccines or eggs.
