Cigna launches new healthcare plan for expats

Announcement

Cigna Healthcare is a leading health benefits business of the Cigna Group, has introduced a new healthcare solution focusing on Japanese expatriate employees or individuals working in the UK. The product (healthcare solution platform) provides a ‘doorkeeper’ alternative with Japanese-speaking support, as well the access to alternative therapies and traditional medicine that are generally availed to the japan workers. The product includes vast digital tools, employee materials, and a customer portal in Japanese. It also involves an online provider directory enabling policyholders to search Japanese specialist clinics situated throughout Europe.

Views and statements from the leading company and its leaders

Cigna says, “The product is represented by up to half of Japanese firms in Europe, those planning for the extension. Following this, the quantity of Japanese professionals in Europe is expected to rise at a slow pace. This trend is commonly a center of pronunciation in the UK. Up to 9.5% of Japanese multinationals are operative within the UK, with a fundamental presence in a few sectors, including financial services. This growth is a positive transition. There might be a cultural unawareness between European and Japanese healthcare practices that can be a reason for stress for migrating professionals. The Cigna Inspire Asia expat solution is engineered to identify this need.”

The commercial growth leads to global health benefits, Victoria Clark said, “The Japanese investors in Europe face multiple challenges like offering culturally sensitive care at times of explaining local regulations. In Japan, the healthcare system understates overall well-being and preventative care involving practices such as alternative therapies and the ‘ningen dock’ exam. These differences can prominently impact Japanese expats ' experience and access to care. Alongside, avoiding these cultural nuances will delay access to care and increase stress levels.”

Further, she added, “Our newest proposition is engineered to fill this gap by offering culturally aware health care that supports employees to fix the stress, barriers, and further enhance health outcomes and the employer’s reputation and fuel productivity. Mainly, it will grant benefit that reflects Japan’s extended contribution for fertility treatments, connecting nearly with the region’s consideration.”

Cigna Healthcare’s new whitepaper ensures that there’s a need for companies to act or anticipate the hurdles Japanese multinationals face, like mapping the European health care system, and gaining knowledge of cultural differences involving crucial compliance regulations. The paper provides active solutions, especially for human resource professionals and insurance brokers.
