Latest, Aden Duale, a Health Cabinet Secretary, has excitingly confirmed the partnership framework between Kenya and the United States of America. The partnership came into force following a bilateral conversation with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the USA’s Secretary of Health and Human Services, in Washington, D.C., at the Department of Health and Human Services.
After having a convincing talk on 6th December 2025, CS Duale reinforced the powerful collaboration between the two nations and their joint commitment to successfully win the Universal Health Coverage (UHC). These new partnerships between the two nations will head towards a better future for the regional healthcare sector.
Duale said, “Our conversation revolved mainly around four priorities: sustainable health financing, digitised health system, fit-for-purpose health workforce and secure access to health products and technologies. I underlined the need for robust multidisciplinary well well-mannered primary healthcare teams that are backed by a well-occupied community health workforce to provide services at the primary and community care standards.”
Further, he added, “We have discovered an intense collaboration with the U.S. industry, government and academia to modernise technology transfer, innovation and regulatory harmonisation mainly in diagnostics, pharmaceuticals and extending local production of vaccines.”
The Health Cabinet Secretary also shed light on the ongoing reforms under the Social Health Insurance (SHI) handled by the Social Health Authority (SHA) that has successfully covered above 27.6 million Kenyans. Alongside, President William Ruto proudly talk about his latest collaborations within Washington, D.C. He states that this engagement is a definitive milestone in the long-term collaboration between the United States and Kenya.
Ruto also felt content regarding President Donald Trump and his administration for what he promoted, the term renewed promises and exceptional hospitality to the smart strategic understanding. After the bilateral conversation witnessed on 6th December 2025, President Ruto said, “The consultation was worthy and showcased a very emotional moment in the long-standing and smart strategic professional relationship, a friendship between the two nations.”
Ruto further spotlighted a power pact collaboration in the health market, ticking that the United States and Kenya had agreed on the new measures, planning to improve disease surveillance, elevate the adoption of modern medical technologies and extend primary healthcare.
