Workshop digs into all fundamental points

This workshop encompassed major topics that bothered the U.S.-based healthcare companies, involving oath, challenges, discussion and more in the limelight. Libya Herald got a confirmation from AmCham Libya regarding this first-ever and much required U.S Company Healthcare Workshop in Libya. This event was popularised with the one-stop topic “Bringing world-class healthcare to Libyans.” This impressive title attracted the Libyans potential healthcare leaders. From January 27 to 28, this event witnessed an apt discussion and presentation at one of the popular hotels in Tripoli.

Commitments and Challenges

The U.S. Healthcare companies that participated in this event were excited and concentrated towards presenting the remarkable portfolio of goods and services offerings. The companies spotted the golden opportunity to connect and build a favourable conversation with leading Libyan government stakeholders. Other than this, the U.S. healthcare companies concern was also given a stage to focus on what hurdles they faced while running their operations in Libya, specifically highlighting the payment issues.

Therefore, the event called well-known stakeholders to learn the depth of these challenges throughout and had a best conversation on how this could be fixed. This sincere and responsible attempt was noticeable at the event, which gave relief, respect and strength to U.S. healthcare companies.

Participants and their topics

The participants representing their U.S. healthcare sector were GE Healthcare, MSD, Pfizer, Medtronic, IQVIA, AbbVie and Abbott. They also screened the presentations on topics such as innovations in the area of imaging, latest developments in diabetes pumps, and rapid diagnostics in the service of the Libyan population. Including Pharmaceutical Illicit trade: A threat to patient safety and pharma industry trends and data importance in healthcare management.

From the Libyan side, the leading stakeholders and leaders like Haider El Sayeh and Mohamed Al-Ghoj also got a chance to have one-on-one, valuable meetings with Minister Al-Ghoj. The Economic Officer and Embassy Commercial, Mike LaRocque characterized and stood beside the U.S. Embassy throughout the event and took a chance to connect well with Libyan government stakeholders and U.S. companies.

At the event, AmCham Libya seems to be more excited, cheering the U.S. Department of State virtual event that spotted Libyan Healthcare market. As this was an unforgettable moment for Libya, they were part of the topic at the U.S. State Department Direct Line programme. These events and programmes bring more business and expansion to both tables (regions).
