Introduction

Signios Bio is a part of MedGenome and provides expertise in bioinformatics and multiomics. The company is sincerely focused on leveraging medicine discovery and precision medicine. Signios delivers a package of services covering NGS, long-read sequencing and AI-inspired bioinformatics for market and university researchers, as the researchers sometimes find it difficult to analyse disease biology.

10x Genomics is a leading life science technology company known for its software, consumables and instruments. Their popular products like Xenium and Chromium platforms help researchers to conduct a deep study of critical biological operations mainly in neuroscience, oncology and immunology.

Announcement

Signios Bio inaugurated its new Xenium 5K Spatial Transcriptomics grant program, along with a 10x Genomics contribution of its Xenium 5K Spatial Transcriptomics platform. This program will bolster creative and effective spatial transcriptomics research. This program is a boon for US-based researchers as it will support them in creating quality, full-fledged single-cell resolution spatial gene expression data in mice and human tissues.

Furthermore, this program will pitch six promising projects for an award, dividing it in three prize categories. The winners will get a discount or money to afford or have access (via discount) to Xenium 5K processing, downstream analysis and imaging, straight qualified by the inventor (Signios) itself.

What is the Xenium 5K platform?

Signios’s Xenium 5K platform is an imaging-related spatial transcriptomics technology allowing the detection of 5,000 RNA molecules per sample, avoiding spatial context. This multi-purpose platform is suitable for fresh-frozen and FFPE tissues. This encourages researchers to magnify cell to cell inetractions, relevant activity, biomarker expression and cell-type localization in the boundaries of valid tissue structure.

Signios Bio’s representative said, “Spatial transcriptomics is transitioning the researcher's way of studying disease biology, cellular interactions and tissue architecture. This noteworthy program is planned to bolster the high vision projects by mitigating hurdles to pairing researchers. This will open the gate of access to researchers holding intensified bioinformatics and scientific power of thinking.”

Reward, Eligibility Criteria and Application Deadline

The first runner-up of the award will provide full access to Xenium 5K, the second runner-up will be granted a total service worth $15,000 for each project, and the third runner-up will get a total service worth $21,000 per project. Only US-based industry and academic (university) researchers working on mice and human tissues are eligible. The application begins from 27th January and will extend till 28th February 2026.
