Sonic Healthcare USA Inc has acquired all assets of Cairo Diagnostics LLC, Cairo Diagnostics NJ LLC, and Rye Management and Logistics Corp (its related to Cairo). Cairo is a reputable provider of inclusive hematology and oncology diagnostics in New York, White Plains, along with a secondary laboratory in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey. Today, with the closure, SHUSA aims to integrate Cairos infrastructure and medically initiated test menu into the national network, leveraging SHUSAs logistics, marketing organization, and payer contracting capabilities.

Cairo, founded by a known hematopathologist, Dr. Sherif Ibrahim, in 2013, gained recognition for the integrational idea in oncology testing. Cairo diagnostics enables personalized, inclusive diagnostic reports by merging molecular diagnostics, cytogenetics, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and histopathology. The idea is introduced to minimize delays that occur while testing is dispersed across various laboratories, contributing oncologists with detailed, complete information to guide real-time treatment decisions.

Need for Expansion of Oncology Diagnostics

In oncology conditions, if delays occur in diagnosis, the treatment gets postponed, which increases anxiety in patients, and in a few cases, it impacts the outcomes. The Cairos integrated laboratory model is introduced to contribute to decision-making in a certain timeframe by generating personalized, inclusive diagnostic reports in a short turnaround. With the following closing, the SHUSA is predicting the acquisition of Cairos potency availed and provided in the network to an exponential share of the mentioned lives.
