Foxconn and NVIDIA Launch ‘Nurabot’ Smart Nursing Robot to Transform Hospitals

Foxconn, using NVIDIA technology, introduced Nurabot — a smart nursing robot that speeds up hospital tasks like moving samples and medicines, helping Taiwan hospitals improve patient care with AI-powered smart solutions.

Technological Advancement

The known electronics manufacturer is creating smart hospital solutions with the use of NVIDIA technologies from the data center to the edge. The manufacturing of giant Foxconn will reduce the burden with the introduction of the new solution, ‘Nurabot’. The Nurabot is a collaborative nursing robot that is less time-consuming and accelerates tasks like transporting samples and medication at hospitals. Nurabot is Foxconn’s smart hospital application created using Nvidia technologies and deployed by Taiwan’s known medical centers. The other tools consist of AI models contributing to digital twins and patients’ health monitoring. These applications enhance the healthcare industry’s transition from medical centers to smart hospitals. The AI models are trained and well-installed on supercomputers. Aligned with this, digital twins are used for testing, robotic training, and planning. The edge computing system provides rapid AI inference in sensors and robots. The Cardinal Tien Hospital and Mazu Hospital are Taiwan-based healthcare institutions that have applied Foxconn’s smart hospital solutions to help clinicians and boost patient care.

The Smart Solution for Smart Hospitals

The Foxconn smart hospital solution idea started in the data center. At the data center, quality performance computing is used to create AI foundation models such as Foxbrain. The Foxbrain is a large language model (LLM) established with the help of the NVIDIA Nemo framework. The Foxbrain is well-trained on NVIDIA Hopper GPUs that accelerate capabilities to automate speech recognition, natural language processing, and text-to-speech.

The company used its Honhai super AI computing center 1, which consists of NVIDIA DGX systems. This develops healthcare-specific AI models. The Foxconn CoDoctor AI platform was introduced by NVIDIA AI. The models improve and enhance diagnostic accuracy and smoothens clinical workflows. This accelerates tasks like vital sign monitoring, cancer screening, retinal imaging, and arrhythmia screening.

Foxconn is accelerating its reach by working with medical centers to adopt the NVIDIA AI blueprint for summarization and video search. This technological solution calculates real-time video data to give emergency updates of medical events to healthcare workers and provide visual summaries, supporting hospital management teams.
